Intimate partner & domestic violence
All acts of physical, sexual, psychological or financial violence that take place within the family or home, regardless of biological or legal family ties, or between ex or current spouses or partners and regardless of whether the perpetrator shares or has previously shared the same residence with the victim.
Forms of domestic violence exercised mainly by spouses / partners but also the father or other members of the family environment.
Among its forms are verbal, psychological violence, restriction of social contacts, financial deprivation, light or severe physical abuse and sexual abuse.
Even after the enactment of a law on domestic violence in Greece, the problem of violence against women at the social level remains unregulated as its elimination, mainly in the context of family structures and relationships, which presupposes that it ceases to be considered socially acceptable behavior either towards women or anyone who suffers due to gender differences.
